Linda Martin of Linda Martin Egg Designs recently sent the first issue of a magazine for egg art to the publisher. Instead of rephrasing what she wrote to announce her efforts to promote this unique art from, with her permission I quote her words.
“A little while back I hinted at something that I was working on which was taking up more of my time, hence the reason I was not posting quite as frequently on FB as I had been..
Well now it’s time to announce the reason why.. Some of you have already been contacted about this as I was asking for your assistance in getting information, and I’m hoping that once this is actually ‘out there’ that even more of you will be wiling to contribute.
I have just taken the first copy of a quarterly, 32 page, full colour magazine on egg art to my printer. The magazine aims to promote egg art, to provide instructional articles, to inspire you to create by seeing some of the amazing egg art that are around the world and also to keep you informed about what is going on in the world of egg art. The publication date should be around the middle of February.. Watch this space as I will announce it as soon as I have the copies in my hand!!
I don’t know everything about egg art by any stretch, but fortunately I do have many contacts around the world who are prepared to pass on their knowledge and share with us all. If you are one of those people, thank you for what you have already done and thank you in anticipation for anything you would like to send me to make this one of the most interesting magazines on egg art available today. There are no advertisements in the magazine, however I have dedicated some space to promote clubs, guilds, classes and shows in the hope that we can boost numbers and encourage more people to take part in organised events, which will almost certainly stimulate more ideas and give more inspiration.
The price of the magazine will not include shipping.. That will be charged as extra due to the various postage rates to ship around the world. Initially I considered annual subscriptions, but I feel it only fair to let you see what the magazine looks like before committing yourselves to more than one issue. Payments can be made by credit card, UK cheque or Paypal and as soon as the price is confirmed with the printer, I will put that information on here, but it looks as if the price will be around £5 per copy plus shipping. Perhaps groups could order together to save shipping costs?
So now you know what I’ve been up to over the last few weeks. Issue 2 is underway and I have articles from various parts of the world for that issue and beyond. Please .. If there is anything you would like to send me to include, send to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are interested in receiving a copy, please contact me privately with your details, either by e-mail, fax or phone. And thanks for being so patient with me while I’ve been busy working on this!!!”
