As promised, I am sharing which of my pieces was accepted to the World of The Wild Art Show at Hogle Zoo. I was fortunate to attend the opening reception on Friday, February 1, 2013 where I was able to meet with a few of the other artists which led to some great conversations. There were guests who brought their young children and it was fun to watch their reactions when they discovered my entry was made from a real eggshell. Answering their questions was the highlight of the night for me.
The staff of the zoo did an amazing job setting up the exhibit (kind of a silly side note, they mixed up the name of my entry with another artist).
A few noteworthy facts about this year’s show, There were more than 14o artists entering pieces to be judged totaling over 300 pieces. Lila Abersold, the Juror, chose 102 for the event. According to the Zoo’s art curator this is the largest number since the show began 20 years ago.
The Exhibit will run until March 17th. So stop by the Zoo’s Exhibition Hall and check out the great works of Utah artists.
